Back to the Future

Works from the Backroom

In October 1987, we opened the doors to our first gallery in Manhattan.  As we hunkered down, we’ve had the time to go through inventory— our racks and backrooms. This virtual exhibition includes works acquired through the years that we are making available for sale during this time.

Until four weeks ago, unlocking a gallery door had been an almost daily ritual for 33 years.  And although it has been only a few weeks, we are feeling nostalgic for the energy of a gallery opening and for the pure pleasure of connecting with others around a mutual love. Art will endure, though we are concerned about the ability of artists, museums and galleries to withstand the fallout from this unfortunate event. We hope to be opening our doors once more in the not too distant future.
